This project aims to protect the sustainable use of common natural resources. In this sense, cross-border area planning to ensure that the use of marine resources, especially in the sea and in protected areas, is in line with the natural conservation objectives of the Black Sea Strategy; It fully complies with its specific priority. The specific objectives of the project are:
1- To determine the coordinates of the sea meadows in the project area (İğneada and Burgas Bays).
2- To prevent the destruction of sea meadows due to wrong fishing methods.
3- To raise awareness by informing fishermen about sea meadows.
4- To help fish reproduce by protecting their habitat.
5- In line with the fact that 70 percent of the air we breathe comes from the seas; To help fish and people breathe by supporting oxygen production by protecting sea meadows.
6- To make the coordinates of the living areas of the sea meadows accessible to everyone through the mobile application.
7- To prepare the ground for possible academic studies on sea meadows in the future.
Marine Survey TR – beach dredging and finding sea meadows; Mobile Application development – An application that provides access to the coordinates of sea meadows for everyone; Marine ecosystems seminar TR – presenting both research results, mobile application training, capacity building, experience sharing; Alamana Festival – to raise awareness and sign a declaration for future cooperation; Multilingual Web Page development – raising awareness and building capacity; Marine survey BG- beach dredging and finding sea meadows; Marine ecosystems BG Seminar – presenting both research results, mobile application training, capacity building, experience sharing; Information and communication – press conference, t-shirts, hats, brochures, web page, posters; Project management – staffing, sound financial management, procurement, monitoring, reporting, etc.
By determining the coordinates of the sea meadows in İğneada and Pomorie bays, it was made accessible to everyone through a mobile application. Destruction of sea meadows was prevented due to the wrong fishing methods. Awareness was raised among fishermen by providing information about sea meadows. The respiration and reproduction of the fish was helped by protecting their habitat. Based on the fact that the seas provide 70% of the oxygen we breathe, people were helped to breathe by preserving oxygen production by protecting sea meadows. A foundation has been established for future academic studies.
